Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

I really have high hopes for this new ownership. Many improvements being made and still in progress. This location has been my go to store for years. I went for fresh fruits and vegetables beginning of this week. The corn on the cob was old. I bought 4 on the vine tomatoes....2 were moldy/soft after 3 days. The peaches looked great until I cut them for smoothies. Grey and gritty inside. I'm hoping freshness will improve. I live just across the street and hope I don't have to drive to a different "speciality market".

1st time at Market Square, WOODWARD AVE. (location), Birmingham, MI, to clarify, 1st time at "any" Market Square. 3 main factors | assess; staff demeanor, food quality/selection, competitive pricing. (1) Staff. Professional, kind, friendly, respectful, enthusiastic, engaging, helpful, knowledgeable. 🏆 HUGE SHOUT OUT to Bella (cashier), Sonia (cashier), Amanda (bakery), Shana (prepared food), Simon (grocery buyer), Jenna (cater director), Sandy (assistant manager), Danny (store manager). STAFF IS EVERYTHING!!! 🥳 Sorry others experienced "rude" staff. We all have "bad" days BUT "any" business that directly interacts with THE CUSTOMER (aka THE CONSUMER, who purchases goods/services, who impacts "the bottom line"), IS RESPONSIBLE to make CUSTOMER SERVICE a #1 PRIORITY commitment to deliver. No exception. It comes with the territory. Take ownership. Do your best to put on a "happy" face. 😁 You can do it! 👍 (2) Food quality/selection. Chicken baked to ABSOLUTE PERFECTION (fresh, exceptional flavor, portion size). Cherries delicious/FRESH. Pre-packaged popcorn MAJOR “WOW FACTOR” 🤩 (unique & fun selection). Peanut butter cookie I will never get tired of. "Doc" (cake decorator) bakes upstai

Under new management, the best I can currently rate them is three stars, and I think I'm being somewhat charitable with that rating. This place is obviously thinning out its selections, and I'm told the reason for this is a planned remodeling. Presumably for this reason, some shelves have been removed which formerly held items that my wife and I purchased regularly. Gone are the Ines Rosales tortas, for instance. When we purchased some at Nino Salvaggio the other week instead, the cashier remarked that they had been flying off the shelf recently. The cheese area has gaps in it. When we shopped today, the fruit and vegetables were either overpriced or unappealing. No Flavor Bombs nor Kumato tomatoes for sale. The previous owners used to have wonderful salads with crisp lettuce. Now, if you flip the salads over, you can see they are water-logged. We stood for some time just trying to find one that was acceptable in a pass/fail sense--let alone an A+, such as we were previously accustomed to. A number of customers just grabbed one without so much as checking the date or inspecting it first. The new owners will be able to sell to indiscriminate customers for a time, but eventually they

Doesn't even deserve one star. I had sent my man to purchase a strawberry delight cake for my birthday on 28th. Prior to that, I called papa joe's, and spoke to a female employee inquiring about how fresh the cake is, and when it was made. She said she had just put it out and assured me it was made that day and fresh. So I sent my man to purchase the big size strawberry delight cake. I was looking forward to eating the cake and was excited, only to be upset and extremely disappointed after trying a slice. Cake tasted stale, old. And, . It was falling apart as well. Strawberries on the top was mushy and tasted soggy which is also a sign that the cake was too old. to be consumed. This ruined my birthday and wasted my money down the drain. We ended up throwing the cake away . It wouldn’t be worth it for us to drive round trip , gas , mileage and time. Papa Joe’s ! Do not deceive customers by saying it is freshly made the same day when it is not. Don’t push your expired old cakes to unsuspecting customers, because you don’t want to throw away old expired cakes. If you want to maintain your reputation and retain customers, you need to do quality control and stop deceiving your

I live relatively close to Papa Joe's. I haven't been there in years. I need it a few extra things on Christmas Eve; the first place I went to was Whole Foods once again very disappointed. My daughter told me to go to Papa Joe's. I wonder why I never go there. You can call me a creature of habit. To be honest, when I first stepped into the store, it had a weird fishy smell. I almost turned around, but my daughter, who I was talking to on the phone, told me to walk into the store and check it out. To my surprise, they had a great bakery section that was unbelievable. The desserts were very appealing to the eyes. The taste was fabulous, and the icing on the cake was that they had vegan and gluten-free desserts. Sorry for shopping on Christmas Eve because I work the afternoon shift and do not get out of work till 11:30 at night, and all stores are closed by the time I leave employment... Edit January 24th, 2023. When I go shopping, I don't dress to impress. WARNING when you go to Papa Joe's, you better dress to impress. I wore a pair of black leggings with my black military-style boots (Bates). The first person I encountered was a man pushing a cart, he sneered at me like I smelled f
